Visual identity and merch design for an indie FPS roguelite video game.
Shatterfarms is an indie FPS roguelite developed by Goobo Studio and published by Boon Square, where players scavenge through a collapsing world while cultivating a mysterious farm to survive. The game’s world is chaotic and hostile. The visual identity needed to reflect that in a genuine manner. The goal was never to mimic the look of mainstream AAA games.
Looking like just another polished indie roguelite would have diluted the game’s identity and alienated the niche audience already drawn to its raw, experimental tone. Working closely with the development team, we built a visual system that embraced chaos instead of hiding it. Inspired by extreme metal, breakcore visuals, and corrupted digital interfaces, the identity leaned into aggression and distortion. We called this direction “Corrupted Tech.”
